My continuing quest for unisex clothing has led me to some lovely work by COCO and Apple May Designs. Each item is available in male and female versions and the quality is just amazing. The hand-in-pockets design of the jacket really gives life to the mesh and, by pulling it away from the body slightly, makes it a lot less boob-focused than much other, standard-sized, mesh. It’s also really lovely to see such well designed baggy jeans, and for only L$100, too! I absolutely love how they sit on my hips and I have a feeling it won’t be too long before I snap up the other colours.
I have treated myself to a new skin, too – this is the gorgeous ‘Bryn’ by Flamboyant who make skins for “beautiful, stylish and sexy adult effeminate male, femboys, girlish bois, traps, and trans-gender avatars.” The options you get for your L$800 are really impressive and make it incredibly versatile; certainly I’ve also found it perfect for a ‘tomboy’/FTM/androgynous look. I think I’m going to be wearing ‘Bryn’ a lot so there should be some close-ups soon – in the meantime you can always take a look at the Marketplace listing for lots of details and pics.
Finally, I’d like to give a shout out to the fabulous Honour McMillan, whose blog I read with much pleasure – she always posts about the most incredible places and it’s thanks to her that I found this sim when I was pondering where to take my pic.
My week didn’t turn out to be as productive as I’d hoped but I have managed to put this scene together inspired by MadPea’s items for The Arcade – Bonsai Madness. Their trees are beautifully done and will brighten up any virtual corner; in an extra lovely touch, if you pair a bonsai tree with its appropriate partner they make sweet music together! 16 varieties of trees are available (including 2 rares) – scroll down to the bottom of this post for a vendor pic that shows all of them – and the price per play is just L$50.
I absolutely adore the henge detail around the base of the rare trees – I’ve included a close-up shot a little further down the post so you can see for yourselves – touches like this are part of what makes MadPea items so special!
Also to be found at The Arcade is this lovely short kimono by Pixicat – there are several colours/designs to be won as well as 2 tote bags and some rare accessories – again, the price is just L$50 per play.
The Arcade gacha event is running all month and, now that it’s about halfway through, I’ve found it much easier to get in to so if you would like to visit for a proper look around, now might be a good time to do so!
Other items in this post are mostly things I’ve had tucked away in my inventory for just such an occasion or sourced really cheaply on the Marketplace – and I do mean really cheaply.. the whole main table set from Roots was only L$9 and I think it’s incredibly well done, let alone astounding value for money! I’ve listed everything that’s included in the credits – well worth checking out!
Well, that’s all from me for this post – I have an idea I’m toying with to try and fit in some more posts each week so hopefully I’ll have that worked out soon.
Until next time.. wishing you all kinds of happiness!

I decided my blog needed a splash of color this week so I was thrilled when I spotted Zibska‘s new release for the new event The Instruments. ‘Kiele‘ comes in 4 colors and I debated long and hard between the blue and yellow versions because they are both my favourite colours (and the black version too, to be honest, because it looks stunning but that would have defeated my purpose of brightening up the blog!) In the end yellow won because it just made me feel the most happy!
This beautiful outfit comes in several parts – I somehow managed to knock the top orbits off and didn’t notice until after I’d taken photos and logged off.. my irritation with myself didn’t beat my laziness, however, so I didn’t re-take the photo – I was really pleased with the way it had turned out, anyway, and I didn’t fancy my chances of getting back into the exact same position.
Putting this together also gave me an excuse to buy the booN hair I’d been eyeing for a while and I was delighted to find no.7‘s butterfly deco lashes, too. Honestly, whenever I want unusual and strikingly beautiful items, Zibska, no.7 and booN are pretty much my go-to stores; it’s rare that I don’t love one of their releases and I’m always excited to try them out.. so if you do see a lot of their items on this blog – it’s not laziness, I’m fan-girling!
Finally, the skin I’m wearing is from the wonderful Glam Affair.. it was a release for the Fifty Linden Friday’s round before last but it is still outside the store as I type this so, if you want to grab it, run! as I’ve no idea how much longer it will be there for. Appliers, if you want them, are sold separately.
I think that’s pretty much it for now – I have a few things building up that I want to show you and a bit more free time next week so hopefully you’ll see some more posts from me pretty soon.
Hope everyone’s having a good weekend and wishing you the best for the week!
This post features items from a couple of events that are about to close – this month’s round of We Love Role-Play and The Dark Style Fair.. both end on Saturday but, if you’re quick, you can still fit in a visit! The outfit I’m wearing is ‘Vionnet‘ by David Heather and is an all-in-one mesh dress with blazer combo – it also includes a HUD with 5 color options for the blazer and blazer collar if you want to mix it up a bit. I was so taken with the style and needed to put a post together to showcase it. This also gave me an opportunity to use one of Pink Fuel’s gorgeous Drow skins with their incredible shading (close-up at end of post).
Once I’d put the outfit together I wanted to find some place a little special to show it off in so I tp’d over to the LEA Welcome Area to see what installations there were. I’m so glad I did because I completely fell in love with Alpha Auer’s exhibit Transit’t Imago Anatopism which creates The Hero’s Journey in 12 stages; at each you can collect a folder which contains part of the story of Volund (a nordic elf) in addition to poses and items that will allow you to construct Volund’s avatar as you complete each part of his journey. You can read about the exhibit in more detail on the Linden Endowment for the Arts blog and, if you stop by, you can pick up a welcome folder which includes detailed but simple instructions as to how to get the most out of your visit. I think the installation only lasts for the month of May so, again, you’ll need to be quick if you haven’t visited yet but I think it’s totally worth it if you have the time!
See you next post!
Dress: ‘Vionnet (Grey)‘ – David Heather (@The Dark Style Fair) – L$350
I’ve been impatient to create this post but an annoying virus and general busy-ness have been conspiring against me – finally, though, I am proud to show off MetaTheodora‘s latest releases for The Fantasy Gacha Carnival: ‘Foundling‘ masks and armour.
sian is an incredibly talented designer and I am much in awe of his/her work so it was a complete delight for me to be in receipt of some review copies and to share this look with you all. There are 12 sets of armour to collect and each contain 10 pieces, including a rigged undersuit. The coordinating masks are available in a separate gacha and, at L$75 and L$50 per play respectively, I think the prices are a steal.. especially for the quality of the work involved. I’m wearing the gold versions of both items – you can see more detail in my close-up following the credits and check out sian’s website to see the other versions available.
I’m absolutely in love with the style and versatility of the pieces and the use of materials is simply glorious (seriously, look at that shine!) I found the unrigged parts really easy to resize to suit my shape and I can imagine finding many more uses for just one or two pieces in other styles in addition to wearing them together. I rotated my mask slightly to act as a visor because I was taken with the idea of presenting another face as I bow my head and I think it’s created an interesting look.. it’s one I’m very taken with, in any case.
Wishing you all healthy and happy times!
Armour: ‘Foundling Armour (Gold)‘ – MetaTheodora (@The Fantasy Gacha Carnival) – L$75 per play (10-piece set)*
Mask: ‘Foundling Mask (Lemuria/Gold)‘ – MetaTheodora (@The Fantasy Gacha Carnival) – L$50 per play*
Shirt: undershirt from ‘Rhea (Ivory)‘ – Creative Chaos – L$1 (gown set)
(*review copies – diolch yn fawr, sian!)
Last week Lucie Bluebird did something amazing – she launched Project EveryBody. The project encourages us all to stop judging ourselves and others for how we choose to look in this virtual world (and out if it) – I highly recommend reading her interesting and thought-provoking posts.
For her first blogger challenge from this site, Lucie encourages us to be brave, to create a look we might usually have never dared to try – something that we might admire but is too far from our perception of our virtual selves or out of our comfort zone for us to have previously embraced.
It took me a good while to figure out what to do for this challenge as I think that I’m pretty flexible about what I blog and I genuinely am attracted to many different styles – it’s usually time that constrains me rather than willingness. Then I realised: Chiana has never had boobs. I’ve seen absolutely amazing avatars that have mesh breasts but, while admiring them, I never felt that the look was ‘for me.’ Initially I wasn’t sure how to go about making Chiana more busty – which implants to try and how easy they would be to fit – and then I remembered something that is gaining a lot of attention right now – the WowMeh fitted mesh body by Baby Ghosn (in-world store here, blog here). I hadn’t bought one earlier as I wasn’t convinced it would add that much to my general look but I read that it had recently been updated to work with breast sliders so I thought it might be perfect for this post.
The body itself is headless and works with SL shape sliders so it’s really easy to adjust and get your own unique look that’s a lot more flexible to what can be achieved with the standard avatar. It comes with a lot of nice features including a set of casual hands and flat feet (I also purchased the additional tiptoe feet) but you can, with a little effort, make it work with Slink attachments too. I had some difficulty with seams that didn’t show so much in my poses but that I wouldn’t be happy walking around with BUT I haven’t spent a lot of time trying to get everything ‘just right’ and it seems to me, and judging by feedback from others, that it should be possible. In any case, WowMeh is still a work in progress and updates are free so it will be interesting to see how the body develops and it’s a lot of fun watching more skin and clothing creators get on board.
As I began playing with my shape to balance out my new mighty boobs I realised I didn’t want to stop there: I decided I would also utilise this challenge to be brave about something the real-life me has a lot of trouble with – reveling in a much curvier shape. My own body has grown so much over the years, for various reasons, but my self-love has never grown with it. I’ve denied myself so many fun activities just because I think I’d look idiotic doing them, always with the promise that I’ll do them ‘when I’m thin again’ and I never, ever, look at myself as being sexy even when people in my life have insisted that I am. So, you can imagine that the idea of being the centre of attention, on stage, flaunting my shape is pretty much the stuff of my nightmares. At the same time, I adore women that are comfortable enough in their own skins to not care what others may think and who just fucking own it! – I wanted to join their ranks, if only for one glorious virtual moment!
What really surprised me over the course of preparing this post is how much I’ve come to love this shape – I think it looks adorable. Obviously, it’s still pretty idealised – nothing sags or has stretch-marks – and I wouldn’t say it’s even particularly that fat – but it’s pretty large by SL standards and I’ve certainly been this size in real life and still felt like a whale which, when I look back now, is an awful lot of wasted time hating myself when I could have been out having fun and being happy.
Being larger in SL has its own challenges – getting anything with standard sizing to fit is obviously not likely to be possible but I’m already looking forward to seeing what other outfits I can put together. While I still can’t see this becoming my default ‘look,’ I think I’ll be using it a lot more than I expected to: I’m going to be taking Curvy Chiana out and about and maybe, just maybe, as she gets braver, I will too.
Lastly, I’d like to leave you with the words of a woman who has much inspired the ‘real life’ me – the first time I heard it I cried with relief that there was someone out there brave enough to say these things, to challenge the ideas of ‘accepted beauty,’ and she started me on my own, admittedly shaky, journey to body acceptance.
Full credits follow the video and remember, whoever you are, whatever you look like in whatever world, you are beautiful.
Another round of Collabor88 started which, as always, means I’ve been emptying my virtual wallet for ALL THE CUTE STUFF!
For instance, this adorable ‘Fluffy‘ dress is by Julliette Westerburg of Tres Blah and I love it a lot; it’s pretty and girly and fluffy and it makes me feel like some kind of romantic heroine. Similarly cutesome is this ‘April‘ hair by Truth Hawks and, I have to admit, while I was already in love with its beautiful windswept look, it was the optional birdie hair clip that clinched the deal! 😀 Both of these items can be found at this month’s round of Collabor88, as can the sweet ‘Ella Heels‘ for Slink medium feet by Darling Monday that I’m also wearing.
My skin is ‘Oceane‘ by Filthy. I’m wearing the Ivory tone but there are six tones included in this discounted fatpack. Lots of makeup, freckles, cleavage options and various appliers are also included making it a fantastic deal for just under L$500. Alexandra has recently relocated the store here and it’s well worth checking out – there are 7 discounted fatpacks of older skins available in addition to her gorgeous new release.
I took this pic at Cheeky Tiramisu Cafe & Forest – it’s a place I’ve been to before but this was my first visit since I’ve returned to blogging. I was so happy to see its just as lovely as ever – so much beauty to explore there.
I have a huge weakness for unusual skins so I was delighted when I found Nuuna Nitely‘s store. This particular skin was just L$1 from the ‘Freebies and Cheapies’ wall and includes eyes to complete a very striking look. I’m pretty sure I’ll be making a return visit soon as there are other items I neeeeeed!
The hand-jewelry from Vika is something I’ve had my eye on for a while and I was really happy to find a use for it – the bones sit over system hands and have a chain to the wrist and finger (a version without nails is also included in the pack). Personally I think the design is stunning and seriously underpriced at just L$99 – not that I’m gonna argue with a bargain!
This dramatic hair is a gift at the always-fabulous Zibska and comes with 5 colours in the pack. To finish it off I used a free hairbase from Amacci – this particular style has soft curls at the neck and temples which I just adore; their huge hairbase fatpacks are completely free and well worth picking up!
In an attempt to keep with the somewhat surreal theme I modded my shape more than usual: elongating the body, flattening the chest and rounding the belly a bit. I also wanted a pretty basic pose to keep the line nice and straight and to fit the emptiness of the overall mood. I couldn’t find exactly what I had in mind so I ventured into creating something myself from scratch using Animare – I’d only ever used it to tweak hand positions before but the HUD and online instructions are really user-friendly so I got what I needed without too many problems. Obviously, this is just a really simple pose that I made for my own use – but if anyone thinks it might come in handy for them too just give me a shout in-world and I’ll be more than happy to pass along a free copy.
Finally, I have some exciting news (well, it’s exciting to me!): I’ve been added to Seraphim’s event blogging team and they’ve all been immensely welcoming and fab. I’ve got a lot to learn but I’m so happy to be a part of a project I’ve been a huge admirer of for such a long time! ❤ *dances*
Scroll down for full credits and I’ll be back soon!

I have to confess, this pic didn’t really turn out as well as I wanted – I’m still struggling with finding a balance between quality and what my graphics card will allow so it’s a bit of a slow process for me at the moment, given my computer keeps seizing up! I’d normally have retaken this to fix the odd angle that makes me look a little squinty in one eye but I crashed so often I was losing the will to live, forgive me?
By contrast, I couldn’t be happier with my outfit! The all-in-one mesh cardi/blouse/skirt is the amazing work of woomi of Amitomo – there are four versions available but this particular colour-combination made me squeal with delight and the work is just so beautiful, I totally adore it! It is currently to be found at Forest Spring Concert Mini Event; I haven’t been able to find out how long this seriously cute event is open for but it definitely is at the time of posting and it’s well worth a visit if you haven’t already!
This sweet skin is ‘Mimi‘ by Apple May Designs – I picked it up a couple of weekends back for only L$25 – it’s back to full-price now but there are, at the time of posting, versions with very pretty makeup, Vegas, set out at the bargain price and there are a variety of tones to choose from. L$25 sale items are a regular thing at Apple May Designs so it’s well worth subscribing to their news and updates; I also picked up ‘Anna‘ with Fantasy makeup yesterday for that same low price.
My adorable bag was a gift at DramaZone last weekend and has a HUD that lets you change the emotion of the egg – I thought tears were appropriate for mine given the amount of stuff I make it carry 😉 The bag is not currently set out but I seem to remember reading that it will be available for sale sometime soon. I did notice that there’s a dollarbie ‘Dance with me..eggi!‘ available – you wear it as an attachment and it slow-dances with you! Lots of fun and it comes with the same HUD as the bag so you can change its expression.
My pose is by oOo Studio and I meant to mention in my last post, but totally forgot, that there are loads of free poses to be had there – in addition to the VIP Group gifts (the group costs L$100 to join) many of the single-pose vendors have a bonus free pose available next to them; these are available to everyone, not just group members.
Photos were taken at Kaelyn Alecto‘s beautiful It all starts with a smile – I had gone there earlier to take some pics for the recent photo contest but I realised that the one shot I managed to take (thanks, graphics card!) was unintentionally almost exactly the same view as the contest poster.. doh! Still, it was a lot of fun doing a bit of non-blogging related photography again and I ended up playing with PicMonkey‘s ‘Posterize’ tool which I think works really well on digital pics – you can see my attempt after the credits. The contest has finished now but there are some seriously amazing photos in the Iaswas Flickr contest pool which I highly recommend checking out and drooling over – I certainly have!
That’s pretty much it for today – scroll down for full credits.
The inspiration for this post was seeing May Tolsen’s release for the current round of Kustom9 – ‘Space Friends‘ are so adorable that I knew I had to have some for my very own. These detailed original meshes are designed to be worn as attachments but I thought it would be fun to rez them for this post; I resized ‘My Home,’ (taking care to make a note of its original dimensions so I could return it back to its intended state once I was done) and I love the results!
Of course, setting up a space-themed post meant I got to shop for lots more cool stuff (not that I ever really need much of an excuse.) I stumbled across Nylon Popstar‘s leotards a little while ago and I knew they would be the perfect starting point for my outfit – there are 9 colours to choose from, each including 2 transparancy options, multiple layers and Phat Azz and Lolas appliers for only L$50 a pack. Hopefully the pictures speak for the amazing quality of the texture itself – it really is that shiny!
A search for space-y items on Marketplace returned these funky boots by Killer Cerise and I just had to have them: the style and texture is just so cute! I resized them slightly and used the alpha for my Slink feet rather than the one included as my legs are pretty small.. but that is the beauty of modifiable items, with just a little tinkering you can have them fit pretty much any shape you choose to be.
I found Olli Braveheart‘s hair store, LCKY, thanks to a fellow blogger and I’m now a big fan: the styles there are really something special and the colours in the packs are some of the loveliest I’ve seen. The one I’m wearing here is an older style which fitted perfectly under Dolce Blackflag‘s fab helmet – there are currently 15 discounted styles out in store sold in colour packs costing only L$50 each.
I’ve layered quite a lot of eye makeup for an ‘out of this world effect’ but the skin itself is a lovely dollarbie from the ever-fabulous MiaSnow (back in-world again, yay!): its lips were already a perfect match for my chosen outfit.
I hope you enjoy this look at least a little as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it!
