Apologies for being slow to pick up the momentum on this blog – I’ve been catching up with creating for events in my store – I’ve been keeping it in mind, though and thinking about how to find new styles. It’s quite a learning curve at the moment and differs from my usual oh-that’s-cute-I’ll-just-blog-that attitude. While I’m still finding things I love, of course, I’m really having to think about the shape and fit of them and what avatar to put them on that might be a little more unusual. It’s a really enjoyable process, though, and I hope you’re enjoying the results, too.
I’ve mentioned at my previous blog how much Zibska‘s creations inspire me, so it was only a matter of time before I was going to revisit them here! I spotted this jewellery set (the pack also includes earrings and rings not pictured) late last night and knew at once I needed to try it on my male doll avatar then found the hair, too. Each has lots of colour options and I’m so happy with the how they look on!
I really love these leggings by NINFANIUM, too – the textures are so well done; I’m looking forward to trying the other colours out! I had a quick look around the rest of the store and I’m impressed with the range on offer – I’ll definitely be returning!

I’ve waited to post about sian’s awesome items (more about these after the next pic) for this Japanese horror themed event because I wanted to be able to experience it fully for myself – and I’m so glad I have because it’s truly amazing! There is so much to see and do – I really took my time and spent a good few hours there (in sessions) but I still feel like I want to go back and do more. You land at the market area and from there you can pick up a HUD and instructions on how to play the game in which you follow and interact with an unfolding storyline.. a kind of puzzle adventure. The theme is horror but it’s creepy in parts rather than terrifying and I found the overall atmosphere interesting and endearing.. and the builds are beautifully done. It’s also completely free to play!
I’m seriously impressed with all aspects – it’s just so fun and engaging and with the main puzzle, hunt & mini games within the game, there is lots to see and do! I’ve posted a collage of some of the pics I took as a teaser – but I’m giving no spoilers about the rest of the experience.. I hope you all have chance to find out for yourselves. As I mentioned earlier, the landing point is a market, and here you can shop for some truly original items designed especially for the event. sian very kindly sent me Chariot’s blog pack which contains a wealth of items based on the manga series Uzumaki.. I confess I haven’t read any of the manga, nor seen the film (though I now very much want to!) but the items are exceptional. I’ve always loved snails – there is just something about them that make me smile so, to me at least, the skullclamp, earrings and bracelet hit a sweet spot between creepy/sinister and cute (because ‘OMG there’s another snail.. squee!) – I appreciate you may feel somewhat differently if you don’t like snails but you still gotta appreciate the gorgeous textures and originality.. I particularly love the bracelets for the snail trails! For each main item you buy there are bonus snails – for decor and for your hand – and there is also a fatpack of all the ‘Spiral Obsession‘ items available at a very reasonable L$400.
Seeing as I’ve been enthusiastic with my editing of the photo I’ve included a raw shot after the credits.. and a shot of the items displayed on a rather interesting mannequin head I picked up on the Marketplace. Hopefully they give you a little more detail, but I also recommend taking a look at sian’s flickr as the photos there are always incredibly beautiful and you’ll also be able to see the table in its full glory.
I hope you take the opportunity to visit Kagami while it’s there and show some love to the creators and participating designers if you’re able because without them our little world would be a whole lot less interesting!

I decided my blog needed a splash of color this week so I was thrilled when I spotted Zibska‘s new release for the new event The Instruments. ‘Kiele‘ comes in 4 colors and I debated long and hard between the blue and yellow versions because they are both my favourite colours (and the black version too, to be honest, because it looks stunning but that would have defeated my purpose of brightening up the blog!) In the end yellow won because it just made me feel the most happy!
This beautiful outfit comes in several parts – I somehow managed to knock the top orbits off and didn’t notice until after I’d taken photos and logged off.. my irritation with myself didn’t beat my laziness, however, so I didn’t re-take the photo – I was really pleased with the way it had turned out, anyway, and I didn’t fancy my chances of getting back into the exact same position.
Putting this together also gave me an excuse to buy the booN hair I’d been eyeing for a while and I was delighted to find no.7‘s butterfly deco lashes, too. Honestly, whenever I want unusual and strikingly beautiful items, Zibska, no.7 and booN are pretty much my go-to stores; it’s rare that I don’t love one of their releases and I’m always excited to try them out.. so if you do see a lot of their items on this blog – it’s not laziness, I’m fan-girling!
Finally, the skin I’m wearing is from the wonderful Glam Affair.. it was a release for the Fifty Linden Friday’s round before last but it is still outside the store as I type this so, if you want to grab it, run! as I’ve no idea how much longer it will be there for. Appliers, if you want them, are sold separately.

This post features items from a couple of events that are about to close – this month’s round of We Love Role-Play and The Dark Style Fair.. both end on Saturday but, if you’re quick, you can still fit in a visit! The outfit I’m wearing is ‘Vionnet‘ by David Heather and is an all-in-one mesh dress with blazer combo – it also includes a HUD with 5 color options for the blazer and blazer collar if you want to mix it up a bit. I was so taken with the style and needed to put a post together to showcase it. This also gave me an opportunity to use one of Pink Fuel’s gorgeous Drow skins with their incredible shading (close-up at end of post).
Once I’d put the outfit together I wanted to find some place a little special to show it off in so I tp’d over to the LEA Welcome Area to see what installations there were. I’m so glad I did because I completely fell in love with Alpha Auer’s exhibit Transit’t Imago Anatopism which creates The Hero’s Journey in 12 stages; at each you can collect a folder which contains part of the story of Volund (a nordic elf) in addition to poses and items that will allow you to construct Volund’s avatar as you complete each part of his journey. You can read about the exhibit in more detail on the Linden Endowment for the Arts blog and, if you stop by, you can pick up a welcome folder which includes detailed but simple instructions as to how to get the most out of your visit. I think the installation only lasts for the month of May so, again, you’ll need to be quick if you haven’t visited yet but I think it’s totally worth it if you have the time!

I have a huge weakness for unusual skins so I was delighted when I found Nuuna Nitely‘s store. This particular skin was just L$1 from the ‘Freebies and Cheapies’ wall and includes eyes to complete a very striking look. I’m pretty sure I’ll be making a return visit soon as there are other items I neeeeeed!
The hand-jewelry from Vika is something I’ve had my eye on for a while and I was really happy to find a use for it – the bones sit over system hands and have a chain to the wrist and finger (a version without nails is also included in the pack). Personally I think the design is stunning and seriously underpriced at just L$99 – not that I’m gonna argue with a bargain!
This dramatic hair is a gift at the always-fabulous Zibska and comes with 5 colours in the pack. To finish it off I used a free hairbase from Amacci – this particular style has soft curls at the neck and temples which I just adore; their huge hairbase fatpacks are completely free and well worth picking up!
In an attempt to keep with the somewhat surreal theme I modded my shape more than usual: elongating the body, flattening the chest and rounding the belly a bit. I also wanted a pretty basic pose to keep the line nice and straight and to fit the emptiness of the overall mood. I couldn’t find exactly what I had in mind so I ventured into creating something myself from scratch using Animare – I’d only ever used it to tweak hand positions before but the HUD and online instructions are really user-friendly so I got what I needed without too many problems. Obviously, this is just a really simple pose that I made for my own use – but if anyone thinks it might come in handy for them too just give me a shout in-world and I’ll be more than happy to pass along a free copy.
Once I’d put this look together I knew where I had to go to take shots – the fantastic Cherry Manga‘s Insanity sim. It’s breathtaking, as always, and strikes a chord with me that I find difficult to put into words (so I’ll just use some of my old ones if you don’t mind). It’s desolate but beautiful and definitely thought-provoking, and I highly recommend a visit.
